Friends of Kottar Society is a Christian Charitable organization formed to work for the development mainly for the social and educational advancement of the Christian population of the district of Kanyakumari, especially in the most backward areas of the district, however without discriminating anyone on the basis of religion or caste.

MOTTO
“Works better than words”

It was formed by a group of priests belonging to the Diocese of Kottar.  The group of priests was gathered under the leadership of founder President Fr. V. Mariadhasan and founder Secretary cum Treasurer Fr. J. Lucas.  The Society was formed and it was registered on 01.04.1980 with the registration no. 9/1980.

MEMBERSHIP & ADMINISTRATION

The membership consists of Most Rev. Dr. ALBERT G A ANASTHAS,Kuzhithurai Diocese, 10 Roman Catholic Priests of the Latin Rite of the Dioceses of Kottar and Kuzhithurai and Dr. M. Johnson, M.B.B.S. who is also a catholic.  They also form the Governing Board of the Society with the right to co-opt more members from among the Priests of the Diocese of Kottar and Kuzhithurai.
